NMB Cubs and Scouts (and families and friends!) are invited to join SAMREC for a fun and action packed morning on 3 December 2011! Program will run from 9:00 to 13:00 approx.

The SAMREC Sea Pledge Fun Day is part of various SST events happening around the country and is planned to coincide with the COP 17 happening in Durban at the moment.

11h00: Symbolic ribbon cutting at COP 17 to start events around the country.

The official launch of the SST Sea Pledge events is to take place in Durban at the Global Forum for Oceans, Coasts and Islands, where the Deputy Minister will announce the start of events. In some towns the mayor will also start the activities of their own municipality.

11h15: Events begin, so divers will dive to write pledges underwater, yachts will sail their pledges, surfers will surf their pledges and more... anyway you can make a pledge ... do it!

16h00: All pledges or petition signatures must be collected, counted and reported to SST through email or phone by 16h00.  Sustainable Seas Trust will be in Durban where Dr. Ribbink will present the resolution and recorded number of signatures to the UN at 17h00.
